Birthday

It was Joy's (my brother in law) birthday when I was in Holland, so I made him a card that was somewhat manly and kinda went with the month we are in.

mum time

My lovely Ian had been so incredible and gave me a ticket to Holland so I could see my family again. This usually means doing a lot of crafting :) Crafting with my mum, and crafting with my aunt. They call it workshops, I call it the best time :)

leftover

I like making the shaped cards with my big dies, but do find it a waste to throw away the waste. So my idea was to create a card with it. I made a border, glues it inbetween 2 layers to make the card more stable, and hung 2 little toppers from the border. It's a fun little card :)

Corner

When I made this card I thought it looked ok when I was done (Created a background again with stamps), but it needed something. Lately I have been going back to golden stickers, and for this one I thought corners might do the trick, and they did!

embossing powder

I created the top border with a stamp. Stamped it with versamark, then used fine gold embossing powder and a heatgun to melt it. In real it's a lot more pretty, cos the border really stands out!

swirly stamps

I created this background with a swirl stamp I have. Taking it from a plain piece of cream card, to a wonderfull background! I punched out the snowflakes in the same cream color, and glues it on! I really like this card :)

Christmas

Another one of those kanban toppers.

Back in march, when I went to the craftfair with my Aunt and Mum and my Sis, we found this guy who sold 12x12 cardstock. 10 colors, 10 sheets of each, so 100 sheets for 11 euro's .... soooooooo cheap!! So I bought 2 packs.
Ofc I had bought a LOT, so I could not rbing the paper home with me. Then in October my sister came over, and she kindly brought  my cardstock!!

I used some snowflake stamps, and stamped it in silver ink to create the background. In real it really has a nice sheen, but you can't see it on the picture.

Kanban

I went to the craftfair here in Hull, 3 weeks ago, and in the last 5 minutes before we got kicked out we found this stand that sold all these kanban toppers etc. I quickly grabbed 10 christmas sheets (10 for 1.20 which is an amazing price!).

Years and years ago I bought these rubber stamps, and one of them is this christmas tree branch thing. That's what I used for the background of this card. Not my best card, but oh well :)

Not impressed

So I myself have not had a look at my own cards for a while, and now that I am posting them again on my blog, and I see the pictures, I am not impressed with myself. I am not happy with colors I used, or complete card layouts. I can do much better then this. I don't know, but some of the x-mas cards I posted the last few times, I don't like them. I am not quite sure why, but as soon as my kitchen is done, I am hoping to find my craftyness back and make amazing cards again!!

See, I look at it and think to myself, what a boring card.

Get well soon

A while back, when my mum was here on holiday, my auntie back home was doing something silly. She fell down from something and hurt her arm badly!! It was a silly time to do something like that as well, as she is a crafter too, and my mum had bought all these nice nice craftthings for her, and she could not use them for weeks!!
To ease the pain a bit, I made her a get well soon card :)

Stamped background

When I went to market, I was lucky enough to find a craft magazine at one of the stalls for1,50 which normally would cost something like 4,50. And it had a free stamp with it, a fun swirl! So I used it on a basic piece of card. Stamped with versamark, and used embossingpowder, so the background came to life!

More guilding flakes

I don't know why, but I have this thing for guilding flakes. They are so nice and shiny and the feel of it ... I could just sit at my crafttable and run my fingers through the tub!

Anyways, I used them on this card :)

It is such an amazing effect when you move the card, and the light catches the guildingflakes :)

Stamped border

I know, it has been a while since I last posted something on my blog. The kids have been going back to school for the last 2 weeks, and I never really craft during summer holidays. And the last week and a half I have been suffering from a synus infection, plus half our kitchen is standing in the living room, as we had a leak and the whole floor had to come out. So I am rusty, and having the shivers, cos I have not crafted in such a long time. Luckily I still have some cards on my hardrive that I have not posted yet, and here is one of them:

I stamped the 2 borders with a Pointsetta stamp, coored them in, did them all loose as well, cut them out to create a little 3D effect. I really like how the border turned out, with the little verse in the middle :)

On this picture you can see better that I cut alongside the stamped borders as well :)

repeat

I am not someone who recreates the same card often, but sometimes you make one and you think, that is a good card!! And so with different papers, colors and little things here and there, it becomes the same card but different!

Flitterglue

This is a thank you to my mum, who pointed out Flitterglue to me a few months ago. I had never seen it before, but once I did I was sold. It's a glue you can use on your stamps, stamp it, and it becomes very tacky. Then the magic starts, with guildingflakes!! Eeverytime I use it, I just get very happy, and go ooohhhh and aaahhhhh!!

The Merry Christmas and borth corners are done with guildingflakes. The pretty snowflake in the middle is not really a snowflake, but an ornament from one of the iron-something die setfs from spellbinders!

Here you can see the Merry Christmas better because of the light reflecting the shine of the flakes better!!

Feel it!!

Simple but effective!

Variety

So with me having these XXL dies from Go Kreate, surely there is more to do with it then just making a cardshape in 1 size. So I made it smaller, and used a different shape to stick out at the top! I really love this card!!!

Mbossibility

I really like the Mbossibilities that Spellbinders has brought out! The size and versatility is amazing! On this card I have inked the embossingfolder before embossing it, giving it the blue deboss effect!

It's a very simple card really, but I love the white and blue together, and the blue feather-leaves are just to die for!!

After watching a create and craft show, I saw this card idea and wanted to recreate it. As it turned out, it's one of those cards that is ok, but I am not jumping for joy over it.

A Sue Wilson card

As I said in my previous post, Sue Wilson is such an amazing crafter/card maker!! Her ideas are so good, it's unbelievable! And sometimes, just sometimes, it's just wonderfull to recreate one of her cards, with a little idea of my own.

I used one side of my embossibility, created a border out of 2 borders, and used some shapes to create a snowflake idea! Isn't it pretty and simple??

embossibility

Sometimes it's not a good thing to watch create and craft, and especially Sue Wilson and her Spellbinders shows.
She is always using embossibilities. and it looks so stunning! So I gave in, and bought one myself, and I love it!!

It's a very simple card, but I love the colors together!!

Little boys birthday

My Ian's sister asked if I could make a card for her grandsons upcoming birthday. He was going to be 5, and what do you make for a 5 year old boy?
So I got my trusty cricut out, my gypsy and looked through my A Child's Year cartridge, and found this cowboy! perfect!!!

I used a Marianne Design die, that is supposed to be icycles, cut it out of green and turned it upside down to create grass! I olso used one of the new dies from my new spellbinders set (ironworks) which made the perfect border!

A long time ago I saw this stampset in Hobbycraft (my least favourite hobby shop) but found it really expensive. Then last christmas there was a 70% discount on it, and I could not resist buying the stampset! Isn't it the cutest little sentiment?

Staf Wesenbeek

A few weeks back Anita from my craftclub brought a cardmaking kit she had bought somewhere. It was a Staf Wesenbeek set, and it looked really nice! Me beeing me, I don't like buying kits that often (although I sometimes do, just to get a template!), but I did wanna recreate the cardshape. And so I did!

Isn't it pretty with the white and pink? I love the color combination. Too bad you can't really see how the card works on the picture.

shrink plastic

I love shrink plastic ... I love the magic of it .... I could do it all day long and still make a little happy dance after hours, everytime something shrinks!

I made a boxcard (that will fold flat in an envelope!) and cut a lovely diecut out of shrink plastic to hang at the front!

Ofcourse it's not very clear to see on this picture as I used a seethrough shrink plastic, but it shows you the boxcard in it's full!! And thanks to Sue Wilson, and her always ongoing ideas and insparation when it comes to spellbinders dies, I used a cornerdie to create some interrest to the sides of the box!

And here a better picture of the shrink plastic die! I also stamped on it with stazon before I shrunk the whole thing! Mind you though, it was very tricky to get this cut, and most of the little bits I had to handcut afterwards with a knife! So it wasn't just as easy as it looks :)

see through

Remember the card I posted a few weeks ago, the one with the 2 holes cut into the sides? Well, this card is the same idea, only bigger holes hahaha!!

The front of the card, so you can see the different layers of the Marianne Design die that I used! Also, I love that christmas/pointsetta corner stamp!

And here you see the 2 sides with the big holes in it!! They call it appetures :)
