Corners

At the craftfair in Holland (which seems ages ago now!) I also bought these corner dies from Cheery Lynn. Looking at them, I sam more possibilities then just using them as a corner, and so I created a circle out of them. When the card was finished, the idea was really cool, just the colors I used were a bit less. Ohwell, these things happen!
Also, when I had the whole things finished, it did not look quite right. I had bought these diamond brats, and so I used them, used some ribbon around them, and created a little frame, and it made the card look so much better!

In the end, I love this card :)

Not everything is red and green

Eventhough red and green scream xmas to me, not every card has to be in those colors. Actually, I don't think there is a rule to xmas card colors, and ifso, it is a rule I am very happy to break :)

This is another enveloppe inspired card, only this time the triangle bit is a lot longer so the card can stand up on it's own.
I have found this new love for printing out little verses and using them as a certer piece for my cards instead of a big decoupage. I think it brings a certain elegance to it.

ribbon edge

At the craftfair (it's a place just full full full of inspiration etc!!) we saw this card with a really pretty border that had a ribbon weaved through it. It took a bit of searching but finally found the die (it's a Marianne Design one) and obv bought it. My one thing I do not like about the die, is that it's not big enough!! But it sure adds a lovely bit to any card really!

Another vintage decoupage, that fit perfectly in my new floral oval! Happy times :)

Another window card

This was actually the first one I made, of the template I bought by accident.

Isn't it just soooooooooo pretty??? I love the white on white with the corners, and the really lacey snowflake/swirls at the back of the window gives it all it needs!! And by making a card this way, it folds flat in an envelope and when you take it out it automaticly "pops" into the curve and gives it that incredible depth!

3 ways

So a friend of mine from craftclub gave me this prefolded and cut card that she had, and asked me to make an example with it, which I did, and then gave it back to her (and forgot to take a picture). I then recreated the card idea for myself using dies!

This is the front of the card, where you can see the bit I cut out :)

The middle of the card, can you see what I have done?

There you go, on the second bit (the piece with the red bow, that is one of my fave die's for xmas) I cut another square out of the card, but I twisted it a bit so it is on an angle! So when the card is folded in, it has depth and looks really cool :)

All white

I do like the look of an all white card, layered on top of eachother. At the point where I made this card I did not own an Mbossibility (I have one ordered, and at the moment I am typing this, it has not arrived yet), so the whole thing looks a bit flat. I am sure I will "remake" a card like this again, but then with embossing, as that would give the card more OOMPF :)

I used one of Marianne's dies, that my mum, my sis and I call "the tennis racket" hahaha :) Just not big enough to fully cut out to the size of my card so I just manually cut some scallops to extend it. I also used pure white edge stickers, and have little dot stickers in the middle of them. I like creating little borders like this :) I am hoping someday soon to order the glue-stuff Sue Wilson uses, so I can make little faux-pearls, that actually stay hard and not like that pearl-ex stuff, that goes flat after it's dry and it get's a little presure on it.

Grand nestie

After my aunt bought her Grand Calibur on the craftfair, she also bought a Grand Nestie, which I gladly offered to demonstrate hahaha :) I made a cardshape out of it, but to be honoust, I am not all too impressed by it, and certainly wont pay that much for a big die like that!
Anyways, onward to the card :)

So the cardshape is cut with the Grand Nestie, and the inside I cut out with an x-cut die, which I got for a really good price, as the die itself was damaged!

Isn't the girl cute :) She is from a spring vintage decoupage book I bought! I love these kind of vintage images :) They make me very happy :)

Red

I love this card. It is so chrismassy red!! I used the new dies I bought at the craftfair. It's the persian motivs and accents from spellbinders, and created a frame out of the corner die!

Another set

Now this is more of an accidental buy that turned out to be amazing! We were at one of the stands at the craftfair that had a lot of cards on display. One of the cards looked really nice, so I wanted to have a better look at it, and ofc that did not go right, and I knocked over the cards that were displayed. I felt guilty, so I decided to buy a cardmaking set with some sort of window, to make up for my clumsyness. That turned out to be one of the best things I bought on the fair!

You can't see it on the picture, but the depth of the window is just amazing!! And the beauty is, it folds completely flat into an envelope!

Corner made into a frame

One of the Marianne design dies I dont have (shock horror) but my mum does have, is a lovely corner. This corner however makes a really nice frame if you cut it 4 times placing it right and sort of attatching them together.

Lantern

One of the other sets we saw was a little lantern. I say little, it came in 2 sizes, one small and one big, and so I bought the big one and copied it for everyone :) It does make a really nice christmas card :)

Used some lovely dies on it, and a decoupage from a Jonna Sheen Vintage christmas cd I printed out. It's a lovely little christmas scene, and I think it turned out as a lovely card :)

A little stand card

When at the craftwhere, we came across these really nice cards on a stand kind of thing. What we usually do is, we buy 1 set and then copy everything for the rest of us :) But this time, the set was so pretty I bought one for myself so I could use the decoupage as well!

The picture looks a bit funny, but it is an oval (the new spellbinders floral oval YUMYUM) on a stand thing. I will make another one in future that will have a better picture hahaha!
