storage

I took these pictures to show my mum and my aunt how I store my spellbinders and other dies. What I do is, I stick on a piece of double sided tape on a firm piece of cardboard, and then the same lenght a piece of low tac tape on top of the double sided tape. That's what holds my spellbinders nicely in place, in one nice folder!

For all the small dies I use these folderthings they use for cardgames like Magic the Gathering. I think ATC cards are stored in these as well. I can see in one go what I have, and what I want to use :) Take my little die out of the card, use it, and stick it back on the tape, and done :)

For the nestabilities I use one strip of sticky tape, and it holds them perfectly! Rectangles together, circles together etc :)

The shapebilities are on their original cards they came on. I reuse the tape that is on there, unless that tape comes off (which happens often). Then I just redo it myself with double sided tape and low tac tape, just like the others. This way the set stays nicely together without taking up a lot of room!!

Gilding flakes

Here is another xmas card where I used gilding flakes! I created 2 lovely borders with gold gold shiny gold!! The picture does not do it justice at all. It works so well with the vintage feel of the decoupage!

I again used liquid aplique on the snowflake! I can't even imagin using a snowflake without the stuff! It makes it look so real and snowy :)

Angel

Isn't she pretty?? This lovely angel came from that magazine with vintage decoupage I wrote about a while ago. She has such a pretty face!

The borders that are so lovely and gold are made with gilding flakes! It's sooooo shiny and pretty, and so much fun to work with!

Doily

Cheery Lynn is a brand that makes the most amazing doily dies!! It varies from squares and circles to butterflies and xmas trees!! They are sooooooooo pretty and so incredably easy to get out of the dies once they are cut! Mind you though, it takes a while to get all the little bits out that might be stuck after whacking it a few times :) But the end result is worth it!

The card really did not need more, the doily does all the work :)

A Hanger

I just love this idea. Instead of a card I like making little projects, and this is one that you can hang underneath a lamp or even in your xmas tree :)

The idea came from one of the magnolia magazines. It took a bit of fiddling to get it right, but it was a lot of fun to make! Ofc all the magnolia stamps are way too big for this, so I put them underneath the scanner, resized them to a much smaller scale and printed them out! Lovely little Tilda's :):) There are 2 different ones, one at the front and one at the other front hahaha :) If you were to hand this in the middle of your room, it would spin around :)

bargain

When we were at the craftfair I saw this lovely paperpack from papermania, but I wanted to look inside to have a better look and feel of the papers, but I got shouted at not to open the pack :( So I never bought it. I then went online and found the paperpack for a lovely price, but what was even more lovely, was that they had the green/yellow/purple and blue papermania paperpacks on sale for 2.29 each!! Ohyeah!!! They fell in my shoppingbasket and arrived in their new home where they are loved and cherished!
I used one of the green papers for this xmas card:

Isn't it pretty?? Ohyes, almost forgot to mention, the week after I got home from Holland Create and Craft had a Spellbinders pick of the week, and one of the sets was soooooooooooooo nice .... oops .... hurrah for flexipay hahaha!! The border and the frame used on this card are from one of the new sets :) I really love them! Oh the tag is also from one of the new sets :)

Fiddly

Ok, so I saw this card idea in a magnolia magazine, and wanted to recreate it. And as per usual I started off wrong, and made it very difficult for myself to get the end result. But that's how it is, you learn from your mistakes and next time I make this shape card it will be a lot faster and easier :)

I do love the big snowflake with Liquid Applique on top of the xmas twigs :) And Father Christmas is having a nice dangle in the middle of his frame :)

Here you can see better that it is actually a complete seethrough frame. What I did was, I made 2 frames and folded them in half and then had a hard time glueing the seems together (thank god for pinflair). What I should have done, was to make 4 frames and glued them together back to back.  Next time I will :)

Black

I love a black card. It has something so elegant about it.

I created the same Die shape twice. Once on the front and the second one on the back at the exact same place as the front one, so when the card is closed you dont see the back one. But when you open the card, surprise, another one :)

With a lovely xmas message :)

Simple

Sometimes a xmas card does not need a lot of stuff on it. A nice background paper, a nice image and you are almost done :)

I do like the apature on the card :) It gives it just that little bit extra :)
And here is the inside with an oval cut in half, and a circle cut in 4 to create corners :)

Vintage

Maybe it is my age, but I think a vintage xmas card shouts so much more XMASSSSS then a modern kind of card. The warmth, the cosyness etc. So I was really happy when I found this little book with vintage decoupage in Holland :)

baubles

In the Marianne Design dies collection are some amazing baybles, bells and stars for christmas. It was too hard to choose, so I just bought all of them :)

This is the front of the card. I know the picture isn't too good, but you can see three baubles sticking out on the right hand side!

There we go, baubles!! They are actually cut out from the background, and then glued the glittered ones on that bit what was still there. Does that make sense?? Also really love these doily dies. I only bought the oval and circle, so next time when I am in holland I NEED to buy the square and rectangle :)

resize

One thing I so love about my new kodak printer (my mum and my aunt have the same one) is that you can resize anything by any percentage. No need for really expensive Grand nestie dies (50 pound each), just draw around one of your normal ones and resize!!!! Most of the nesties are an easy shape to cut out, and make lovely cardshapes!!

The toppart of the card had 2 little cut outs, because of the dieshape. I know I could have just made it without the cutouts, but I liked them because I put a ribbon through them! Used a lot of the new dies we bought at the craft fair :)
