World of Cardcraft Challenge

Ricky, my lovely friend Anna's partner, started this group on facebook, giving us challenges. The challenge he gave us this time was to make something with your favorite color and number. My fave color is orange, and all the earthtones and red's and yellows that come with it (hahahaha so much for 1 color), and I don't really have a fave number. However, I do find "round" numbers feel good, and whenever I watch Deal or No Deal box number 18 is a good box, so I went for number 18. I know I did not make the deadline, but I still made the card :)

Do you think I overdid it with the flowers?? That was actually my take on my fave number. There are 18 flowers on the card :) I handstitched the lace to the circle, and used a cute little stamp with some embossing powder on it. Paper is from Basic Grey. Tilda is colored with Promarkers, and the cute sentiment is from a stampset that came free with a magazine I bought this week :)

Sketch Saturday

This challenges was so much fun to work with :) I really enjoyed making the card.

What I also enjoyed today was spening a lot of money. Well, I would have prefered to spend less obviously, but today I bought the full Prisma color pencils set, sansodor and paper stumps!! Can't wait for it to get there! I also bought a Bells n Whistles stamp, so so cute!!

I also got amazing mail today. My mum send me a package from Holland, which included the new Magnolia Ink magazine, amazing paperpads and lace, and she made me amazing fabric storage for all my Promarkers. After an hour of sorting they are now all in color-order, and it looks so pretty!! So a BIG BIG THANK YOU to my mum for making these!

So here is my card. I used some Basic Grey paper for all the layers. The image (it's a Sarah, no not Sarah Kay, just Sarah) is colored with Promarkers. Distress Inks were used to do matting and layering, and put like an airbrush kinda idea behind the image. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border, some Hot Fix stones for the bling, and I punched some leafs with a Nellie Snellen punch. The cute flowers I happened to have bought today at Boyes, and they were just the perfect color for on the card. Voila, card done :)

Friday Sketchers Challenge

Luckily I am feeling a lot better, and I have spend a lovely afternoon making a card for the Friday Sketchers blog.
I used papers from my old stash, a Marianne Design die, where I made a Faux Nestie kinda thing to layer it on. The image was free with a magazine (I love free things :)), and I colored her with Promarkers. Instead of using flowers where it said on the sketch I stamped some cupcakes and colored them again with Promarkers.

Something simple

For the last 5 days I have not been allright. I think Ian gave me his bug. As I am writing this I am as dizzy as anything, but I really wanna post this card. My lovely friend Anna her partner has made a facebook group to give Anna and myself some challenges. I know I am a day late, bit I still wanted to show what I managed to make today.

The challenge was to use Clarice Cliff as an inspiration. She made lovely artwork in her days, things I actually really loved! I used her colors, the circle and the tree, and made this simple card. Paper is from Basic Grey, the tree is made with the Naked Tree and Leafs set from Clarity Stamps (Barbara Grey) and the flower is made with a Marianne Design die.

Sketch Saturday Challenge

Have I mentioned before that I really enjoy doing these sketch challenges?? I might have done, but that's because I really really do love these sketch challenges :) Here's another one I made.

Lovely girl on the card is a stamp from Lili of the Valley. She is colored with Promarkers, and I gave her a Distress Ink background. I do need to practise a bit more on that as there is a darker spot where I did not want it. Flowers are Prima Flowers, with some hot-fix stones in it :) Again handstitched the border!

Purple

I went a bit overboard with purple on this card. I got my papers, colored my Tilda, and it was like an ocean of purple. So I made the die-cut circle green, to give it a little bit of contrast!

The papers are from old stash I have from my scrapping days (and there are tons and tons of papers finally getting used again :)). Nellie Snellen Multiframe-die with a circle in the middle I made with my circle-cutter. Tilda is colored with Promarkers. I used Primaflowers, also from my scrappin-stash. The stamp in the corner is from a set called Create a Frame, and is stammped with versamark and then embossed with embossing powder.

Sketch Saturday

I am a very happy bunny! Yesterday a big package arrived and it had all my Promarkers in! Ofcourse I had to try out some colors, and made this card for Sketch Saturday:

Image and sentiment are both Lili of the Valley! I think this is one of my favourite images. I just feel the love between the girl and her doggie on the swing! Stitching is done by hand again. I know, it's silly, but I like the look and I have got all these amazing Sulky colors!

Friday Sketchers Challenge

Today was a fun crafting day. I go to a craftclub every monday, and it's a group of lovely ladies! Unfortunatly they are doing work to the building where we go, so I arranged an extra table and some chairs and invited everyone over at my house! It was nice to see some of the ladies again :) (Not everyone was able to come.)
I started making this card for Friday Sketchers Challenge, and I am very pleased with the result. As always, the picture does not do it justice.

I used another beautiful image from Penny Black (I bought them at the KreaDoe craft fair in Holland, and now so regret only buying 2!!) and colored these girls with Promarkers. Cut them out with a Spellbinders Nestability, and made a Faux Nestie to layer them on. Got this pretty lace also from the craftfair. Used a Martha Stewart punch to create the lace-border-look, and for the matting and layering I used Distress Inks on white paper, to match it with my old-stash-patterend paper! Finished it off with some bling Hot-Fix stones.

An early start

I said it last year, and then didn't really do it, which ofcourse came right back to me at the end of the year ... Christmascards, and making them earlier in the year. So yes, I have my first card for this years Christmas done!

I used Basic Grey papers, and stamped a flowery stamp in the corners with Versamark and then embossed them with gold embossing powder. The "Joy" eeehhhh .. whachamacallit ... is cut out with the Cricut (it's from the Christmas cartridge) and the lovely Father Christmas is an image from Magnolia and colored with ........ Distress Inks!! HAH ... you thought I was gonna say Promarkers again didn't you!! I absolutely adore the coloring, but it took me a bit to figure out how to make it nice. I think I did an ok job :)

sketch saturday

I made another card yesterday for a challenge. It's a very simple card, but I really love the look.

I did get a sewingmachine for christmas, but for some reason when I try to use it, it keeps breaking the thread. It's one of those cheap going-on-holiday ones, so I might get Ian to bring it back, and buy a bit more expensive one. As I do love the look of stitching on cards, and my machine was not working, I did this one by hand! The imgae is from Penny Black. Isn't she lovely?!? Colored with Promarkers, and when I was done I put a mask on her, and gave her a distressed background.

Friday Sketchers Challenge

It is my very first try at a sketch challenge, but I really enjoyed making this card! It is actually gonna be send out to a familymember of mine in Holland, who was very disappointed that I send her a bought christmas card hahaha!!  So to make it up to her, I made this one! Hope she likes it :)

Lovely Tilda was colored with Promarkers (I ordered all the missing ones yesterday HURRAAHHHHH). I used some scrap pieces of paper I still have from my scrapbookingdays (that's like a gazillion sheets of paper hahaha). Made the flower with the Nellie Snellen punch, as are the leafs. Diecut swirl is from Marianne Design, and I used some Hotfix stones and a white souffle pen.

Grandma Maud

Grandma Maud was 88 on January 1st. 88, what an age!! And she is such a lovely person. She goes to Bingo 3 times a week (and wins a lot too!!!) and once every 2 weeks she has our family coming over for fish and chips, bless her!
This is the card I made for her birthday.

Maybe you recognize something from the card I posted 2 days ago. I used the opposite rectangles on this one. Colored the lovely image with Promarkers and made some roses :) The tag comes out and says Happy Birthday Grandma Maud, but ofcourse I did not take a picture of the tag.

Hopefully today, or otherwise tomorrow is gonna be a good day. I get to order the rest of my Promarkers, so my collection will be complete! I can't wait for it all :)

Blergh

I did all of the cleaning yesterday, all the Christmas stuff is back in the loft, so I had a lovely day planned for myself for today to do some cardmaking. Unfortunatly I feel like poo.
Yesterday we had to take Ian to hospital, because he was not ok at all, and according to a doc he has tonsilitus (or however that is spelled!), but at the moment there are 700 people in Hull Royal alone with swineflu. So knock on wood, that that is not what he has, or what I am starting to get! Better pump myself full with paracetamols and such!

Anyway, I have 2 cards left in my file to show you. One today and one tomorrow, so I better start doind some major cardmaking :)
I love this card. Nice and simple, earthtones. The sing-a-song mousies are colored with Promarkers! Made the little rose myself with a Marianne Design Die! I love making those, and I love that I can use the same colors as the backgrounds or whatever!

Bye Christmastree

Normally I would wait till January 6th to take my Christmastree down, but I really have had it! The last 4 days orso no one has even bothered to turn the lights on, so back in his box he goes and live in the loft till next year!

Not that Christmas will be over for me, because I have decided (does not mean I can keep myself to it hahaha) to already start making Christmas cards for this year!! Here's one from last years (hahahaha).

Cute baby mouse is colored with Promarkers. I do love the bow on this card!

Happy New Year

everyone. I wish you all the best for 2011. Make it a wonderfull year!

We had a lovely evening last night, with Ian's family. I made a meat fondue and later a chocolate fondue, and it was su much fun and so yummie!! We played a lot of games, and had a great time and lots of laughter!

For my card today I used another Penny Black image I had in my pile. I used a technique I saw on Create and Craft, where you let the image come out of the die-shape, and not actually cut it out and glue it on the die-cut shape! It's so much fun to do and I love the result!
Colored the image with Promarkers and puffed the snowflake with snow-puff-stuffamabob :)
