18 cards

No there are not going to be 18 cards in this post, but the three weeks I was in Holland I managed to make 18 cards! So this is the first one of many cards to come :)

2 Days after I landed in Holland it was craftfair in Den Bosch, where I went with my sister, mum and aunt. It was an amazing day, and a lot of pennies were spent. I had made a list of all the stuff I wanted to buy, and luckily I managed to get most of it, for the price I wanted!! I bought 7 sets of spellbinders, and they are just too good! Totally love the persian sets, and I am sure they will be used on many more cards to come :)

This card is like an enveloppe idea, and on the sides I used the border from the persian set from spellbinders. When I wanted to glue it on the card a small problem surfaced. I could not use a glue spray, because that would have made the whole thing sticky, and double sided tape would show through the little holes. So what I did was, I used double sided tape, and then where it was showing through the holes, I filled it with glitters, and the effect is just stunning!!

For the inside of the card I used 2 of the same die, and layered them up so it looks like a circle :) It just worked perfectly, and I am really pleased with the look of this card.

Christmas

Yes, I am really sticking to my, I am making christmas cards all year round idea. Besides a lovely variation, I am also starting to build up a nice little collection to hopefully sell at the end of the year.
For this card I used one of my favourite Martha Steward punches, that I really do not use enough, and then sew all the lace around it by hand. I just love this effect!

Mother in Law

When I was away to Holland, it was my mother in law's birthday, so I made her a card up ahead, and wrote on the enveloppe she was not allowed to open it untill her birthday :)
I made the same kind of card as I did for Leonie, but instead of a stamp and coloring, I used some decoupage. My mother in law loves bluetits, and luckily I had a decoupage with bluetits on, so that's what I used :)

More parties

My trip to holland had some really fun parties in it. One of them was the birthdayparty for one of my bestest friends, Leonie. I have known her for 17 orso years now, and besides celebrating her birthday, we did a little reunion with 2 other friends. The 4 of us used to go all over europe, to follow this boyband called *NSYNC. It is one of the best times in my life, and it was so nice to see everyone again.

Now I know that leonie's house is all browns and blues, so I made the card in the same color scheme. I colored this bueatiful stamp with promarkers, spectrum noir and prismacolors. The middle bit of the card is actually accetate, so the card is half see through.

You cen see it better in this picture where I used the accetate.

Holy Communion

The same day as Joëlle's birthday, it was also her bigger sister Resa's Holy Communion. I did not have anything appropriate really, no stamps or decoupage that I could have used, so I went for a stamp called sisters, as Resa really loves beeing a bigger sister now!!

The coloring is done with Promarkers and prismacolors. It was so nice to do a bit of coloring again :)

Joëlle's first birthday

When I went to Holland for a 3 week break, it was my sisters baby 1st birthday. I made her a little card with a doggie on, because she absolutely loves my mum dog. She can't so the whole barking thing yet (what do doggies do?? woof woof) but instead, whenever she sees a doggie in real, or on tv, she starts panting, like doggies do :) It's so cute!!

I used Adorables stamps and colored them in with Promarkers. I gave the little girl a blue and red dress, because that is what Joëlle was wearing on her birthday :)

CD crafting

Months ago, when I was sorting out my christmascards I got from people, I had to ask my dear friend Julie where she got the picture from, that she used on her card. She told me it was from a Joanna Sheen cd, that she printed off. I asked her if I could have a look, and it turned out to be a 3-CD collection of the most amazing, georgeous and lovely images and backgrounds EVER!! It's all vintage, and I just love love love vintage!!

I printed off 5 of the same image sheets, and made my own decoupage. Created a sort of box and used a background paper from the cd as well! I so love this card, it has the right feeling of what christmas is to me! Warm, cosey, family!!

Not mine, well a little bit ...

A good few weeks ago I was sitting at my table crafting away, when a friend of mine popped around. She saw me doing some coloring and I asked her if she wanted to do some aswell. She has never colored with promarkers, but she gave it a go! Then cut it out, and left it at that. Me beeing me, I could not leave it like that and made a little, very simple card with it :) And to be fair, I really love the endresult :) It's so chrismassy!!

Special card

A few weeks ago it was one of our craftclub members birthday. She is now the respectable age of 75! Such a great, fun and lovely lady, she deserved a special card for this special day :)

I love the whole feel of the card. The colors, the decoupage, it just all worked so nicely together :) At the bottom, I used a martha steward punch, and punched it in white, and then again in brown and put the flower leafs back into the white! It was a bit fiddly, but the end result was great!!

Birthday card

I had made the base for this card ages ago, but somehow the background paper really did not do it for me. So after months of gathering dust, I took it out again, covered it with a punched piece of paper and actually made a birthday card out of it :)

It's just one of those cards that is ok, but not that I get very excited about and think to myself, yeah I did a great job there! Ohwell, someone will like it :)

Get well soon

My mum had eye surgery 2 months ago, and I made her a little get well soon card.  It is in dutch, as my mum is dutch :)

I really love the look and simplicity of the card. The bottom corner stamp, I stamped twice, and cut out the flowers. I raised them with foamtape and then used a glaze to make them nice and shiny :)

Facetta

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, I bought this card making technique called Facetta. Beeing in old techniques (which wont last long) I wanted to make a card with it. I really love the look of embroidery on cards, but my hands really don't like to do it anymore. I get cramps and all sorts. I managed to finish this one though, and it turned out really nicely :)

I like the colors of this card, and glad I could use dies on it too :)

Back

I am back from my 3 week holiday/family visit in Holland. I have had such a great great time. I went to a craft fair with my mum, aunt and sister, and it was just AMAZING!! Spend a few pennies, and made an awesome deal. I bought 7 of the latest, most awesome spellbinder dies for 150 euro's!! It sounds like a lot in one go, but let me tell you, it was sooooo cheap as they usually go for inbetween 25 and 28 euro's a piece. Yay for me!! Be prepaired to see lots of cards in the future with lovely diecuts on them :)

For now, a card I made a few months ago. I think for the rest of this year you will be seeing lots and lots of christmas cards passing by. This is the first of 2012 :)

I used a technique called Trapeze, where you work with threads (and sometimes beads). Originally they are made with smaller (read 10 by 15 cm) cards, but I resized it on my printer so I could use it on my big card!

As you can see, you can see right through the card, where the threads are holding the middle piece in place. This wasn't easy to do, but after a bit of struggling I managed to do it! And I totally love the end result.

I made a picture with a white piece of paper inbetween the card so you can see the threads a lot better. I really loved making this card!
