Strange

Not cardmaking, no the weather. The weather is very strange. Yesterday I had to leave craftclub an hour early cos I was so hot I was about to pass out, and today I am sitting here in my t-shirt feeling cold. We went from over 30 degrees to 18 overnight. I can feel the sniffles coming up already!

I tried making Strawberry jam for the first time yesterday. I don't think it was a complete succes, as it looks kinda sloppy. Have not tried the taste yet, cos I want it to set for 24 hours before I re-open one of my jars. The strawberries were freshly picked from our garden, so it can't be too bad can it :) hahahaha :)

For now, I have a little card I enjoyed making :) Well, I enjoy all of my cards I make, but I like special folds and stuff, to try out :) This one I saw in a book I borrowed from someone in our craftclub. She loved that card too, and wanted me to make an example card for her, so I did. The top and bottom actually open when you undo the little string :)

Happy Christening Joëlle

My sisters new born (well, sort of new, she is 3 months nearly) baby Joëlle's christening is today. Unfortunatly I can't be there, but I will think about them all day :)

For Joëlle's christening, my mum and I made 2 cute little cards, and here they are:

This is my take. Used my new frame-stamps by Barbara Gray. They are so so cool, I really love them! The stained window is from the Adorables Christmas collection, and then a lovely Tilda with a candle. It was the only stamp I had that came remotely close to a Christening. She is colored with really soft pink tones and a blender. It was the first time I colored like this, and I really love it!! The picture does not do the real thing justice!

And this is the card my mum made! How incredibly cute is this Lili of the Valley christening stamp ?!?!! My mum bought it at the Doncaster craft fair, especially for Joëlle's Christening. I think my mum did an excellent job again!!

Greetings

Today was again a good, but expensive, day. First I got an email saying I won a stamp, that I could pick myself, from a company that was at the craftfair in Doncaster!! Now that is always a good thing. So I went to their website: http://www.indigoblu.com/?page_id=55 and after looking and looking again, picked the lovely anenome corner stamp.

Then the expensive part came in. Yesterday a new show launched on Create and Craft, Adorables Summer Special. Last year I got the Adorables christmas stamps, and I just love them, and I knew I was gonna love these stamps as well. It took me a whole of 3 seconds to realize I wanted these!! This morning the show as on again, and when the stamps became Limited Stock, I panicked, got Ian's card (with permission, cos I have to pay him back) and bought the stampsets + CD. I can't wait for them to arrive. My fingers can't wait either, as I have to cut them all out and stick them on EZ mount and cut them out again! OUCH!! But it will be worth it!

For now, another lovely Tilda card :) Made especially for a friend I have known for a long time in Holland. I sure hope she likes it :)

Nice day

At least, for now it looks like it's going to be a very nice day. A clear blue sky, sun is out, and my washer is done so I can hang it all outside in a minute. But first a new post on my blog. It is another card I made at my mum's in April. At the moment I am in the middle of making 2 cards, no 3 actually. Done bits and bobs for one, colored for another etc. Hopefully I get to finish at least 2 of them today :) For now, an "older" card.

This is the front of the card, ofcourse with a lovely Tilda :) I really have fallen in love with Magnolia stamps (like the rest of the world) and Tilda seems to be appearing on a LOT of my cards at the moment :) She is colored with Promarkers and Prismapencils.
Now I wanted to be "smart" and create a flower out of my sentiment. I hand sewed the lace onto it, and used a Marianne Design die as the stem (is that correct spelling??) with leafs. But I must have failed, as neither my mum or my aunt actually saw what I was trying to achief. Only after telling them, they noticed.

And this is the inside of the card. It's a little box-frame-thingy on one side, and a pocket on the other side. Tilda and birds are colored with Promarkers and Prismacolors, and there are Marianne Design and Joy dies used. Martha Steward punches, Nellie Snellen punches (the butterflies) and handstitched the lot.

sketch saturday

Today is a bit a sad day. I had such a great time when my mum was here, but this morning she had to fly back to Holland again. All good things come to and end they say, but luckily we got more good times coming :)

Anyways, I made this card for the Sketch Saturday blog. Really enjoyed working with the sketch :)

This was the second time I made a lighter shade Tilda. The first one is on a card I can't show just yet. I really love the way it looks. I just used 2 lighter shades of colors and then the blender. It turned out really well :) at least I think so :):)

Another project

Seeing a card like this at different places, and then seeing it again in one of my magnolia magazines, it was time for myself and my mum to make one of these flower-pot cards. It took us a good few days to finish the cards, but they were so much fun to make!

This is my take on the card. I made the little roses, the flowers with the ribbons and the blue ones. The smaller flowers are Prima-flowers. I lust love all the different textures and sizes. The flowers make me very happy :) The little girl (I don't know the make of the stamp) is colored with Promarkers and Prismacolors.

This is the card when you pull the flowers out, to find the hidden piece of cardstock to write your message on!

And this is my mums take!! She was a bit more lazy and actually only used pre-made flowers hahahaha!! It still took her a day longer to finish it :):)
The lovely hedgehog (from Country Companions) is colored with Promarkers and Prismacolors.

And again the hidden piece for writing!!

An oldie

Well, not really an oldie, but this a card I made when I as in Holland in April. I still have a few to show from back then :) In the meantime, my mum and I made some more lovely things :)

Yesterday we went to whitby, and we ran into this lovely little craftshop! She was selling a big 12x12 K&Company dubblesided paperpad for 9.99, Laura Ashley 8x8 paper pads for 1.25!!! So yes, we bought some ofcourse :)

Anyways, here is my card :) The doily-thingemabob in white is actually a Martha Stewart Cornerpunch. I used a circle template and created the doily effect with it. Tilda is colored with promarkers and prismacolors :) I love this colorscheme, the grey and blue, together!

A little project

When Anna was here last week, she brought one of her Magnolia Ink magazines. In the magazine was a lovely card with template. I just love little projects like this, unusuall shapes, boxes and all that sort of stuff. So I scanned, printed and my mum and I were on our way making these lovely easel cards!

This is the one I made. And I can tell you, I am going to make many more of these, cos they are so much fun to make, and they look great!! Tilda is colored with Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils. I also used one of my new spellbinders dies (fancy tags two). I had seen them on the website, and I just new I would love these to bits!! Some flowers, big ribbon and lots of hotfix stones, and my lovely teapot-card was done!!

And this is the one my mum made!! Again Tilda is colored with Promarkers and Prismacolors. I think it's one of the most vibrant way of coloring! And isn't my mum amazing at coloring :)

sketch saturday

A couple of months ago I got some amazing mail from a friend in Holland. She send me some rubber stamps and a lovely card!! I did email her, but wanted to send a card as a thank you. It took a while, but I finally did make a thank you card!! At the same time used the amazing sketch from the sketch saturday blog :)

Over the weekend I have bought some lovely new things, and they have all been used on this card :) Bought some amazing papers at The Range, and the corner stamp that made the frame I bought at the Doncaster fair, and it's a Clarity Stamp (by Barbara Gray). The corner stamp is colored with Promarkers, and Tilda is colored with Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils. I also used little bits of the corner stamp on the sentiment.

Craftfair Doncaster

My mum, my friend Anna and myself went to the craftfair in Doncaster yesterday!! Ohmy, did we have an amazing day. It is not the biggest of fairs, but we certainly needed our time there to see it all, and then still we did not see it all, as we did not see ANY demo at all!! And there were many people demonstrating. Lavinia Stamps, Barbara Gray from Clarity stamps, Ali from Dimensions Fourth ... and many many more. We certainly could do with winning the lottery, with all the yummie yummie stuff that was at the fair hahaha :)

Here is a picture of all the stuff my mum and I bought. Now when you think to yourself, why did they buy 3 of the same stamps?? That is because my mum's sister is a very good crafter herself. She was not at the fair, but gave my mum a shoppinglist of all the things to buy :) As you can see, we spend a lot of pennies yesterday :)

My mum and Anna at the Lavinia Stamps booth!! Oh oh oh, how I wish I was rich!! Her cards are so amazing, so magical!! It's a true joy to walk around in her booth and look at all the amazing example cards.

And yes, that is my mum (from behind hahahaha) looking at a demo from Barbara Gray!! We went back to her booth 3 times to buy someting ... oh .. oh .. :)

I was so exhausted when we came back, that I only played a little bit with my new stuff, and went to bed really early!! What a great day I had :)

Made by my mum part 1

My mum has been here since last tuesday evening, and it is amazing! On wednesday we went to Boyes, where she bought some stamps, and she made some lovely cards with it.

Aren't they just the cutest couple :) Stamps are from Country Companions lover's lane series. Colored with Promarkers and Prismacolors. A lovely Marianna Design leaf die, and some flowers bought at Boyes as well :) The larger background paper is printed from the Adorables cd, that came with my Adorables stamp set from last year :)

Another cuty from the CC-lover's lane series. Again colored with Promarkers and Prismacolors, flowers from boyes and another MD leaf die.

Isn't my mum a talented lady!! I am really proud of her :)

Tree

My friend Anna was here yesterday, and she brought a Magnolia magazine with her. When I was looking through it, I spotted this card with a lovely tree. I wanted to recreate it, and so I did :)

I made a tree-trunk template (I just cut  a bit of the side of an A4 sheet) and used walnut stain and vintage photo distress ink, to make the treetrunk. Stamp this amazing Lily of the valley image, cos what is more perfect then a swing han ging out of a tree :). The little girl and her dog are colored with Promarkers and Prismacolors. I then cut out different sizes of leafs with my cricut, and stuck them on the card. Left 2 open spots for some flowers :) Handstitched the border and stamped a lovely sentiment :)

Freshly made

Yes, a freshly made card!! The glue is not even dry yet :)
My mum asked me to buy some stamps overhere in the shop, and so I did. But ofcourse she is not allowed to take them home before I have at least used a few of them :)

All the stamps, apart from the sentiment, are from the country companions stamp set. There was a lot of masking involved in this one, and it took me 3 tries to get it right, but it turned out so amazing!! Colored some bits with Promarkers and some bits with Prismacolors. Also used one of my new Marianne Design dies, that my mum brought me from Holland :) I am so happy with how this card turned out :)

So excited

Yes, I am very very excited. My mum is flying over today from Holland!! And she is gonna stay for 2 weeks :) I am really really happy. We have got nothing planned other then hopefully make a lot of cards, and on sunday we go to the craftfair in Doncaster!! How cool is that :) 2 years ago my mum was here too, and we then went to a craftfair here in Hull. Guess what?? She then won the raffle, 2 binliners full of craftstuff!! Unfortunatly (hahahaha) she could not take everything home, so a lot had to stay here :).
Anyways, I am hoping to show some lovely cards the next 2 weeks, that mym mum and myself have been making :)

For now, an "old" one I made a few weeks back. For a change no little girl or boy, but some pretty flowers :) This card was actually just a "try" card, doing different things. I had bought these new Joy-dies, that have the shape of a button. I stamped little flowers on them, and gave it some color. Then used 3 layers of embossingpowder to give it a lovely sheen :) And as you can see, I used the Marianne Design flowers again, but this time I did not use a ribbon through them!!

Good luck

I am happy today :) I spend the last3/4 days in bed, feeling sick and having a horrible cold. Then yesterday I started feeling better, and the sun came out again, and today is gonna be a lovely sunny day!! I love the sun, I need the sun. The fall-like weather we had the last 2 weeks orso were doing my head in.

So here is my card for today. I love this card. I love the colors, the image, the flowers!! The flowers dies (Marianne Design) belonged to my mum, who bought them a year ago, and never used them. I love them, I love how you can add texture to them with the ribbon. So my mum was kind enough to donate the dies to a good home, and they are well loved overhere hahahaha!! Thank you mam!!
Tilda is colored with Promarkers and Prismacolors. Swirly dies from Marianne Design and Nellie Snellen floral punch for the butterflies :)
